Brooch of Gold, Turquoise, Emeralds and Topaz, French, c. 1830, The Victoria and Albert Museum
Stalking the Belle Époque: Mastery of Design: From the collection of Countess Gautier, we have this brooch
in the form of a stylized basket of flowers, the epitome of the Naturalistic style which dominated English and
French jewels of the 1830s. The brooch of gold is set with an emerald, turquoises and topazes and bears a Paris warranty mark for 1819-38. Source: Stalking the Belle Époque: Mastery of Design
